In GREENLIGHTS, Matthew McConaughey discusses how confrontation equals unity (McConaughey. 2020). Whether or not we are comfortable with this is besides the point. We all must be willing to speak the truth, and our superiors should spot us as we grow. In my experience, it is usually the team members who support us. Ironic eh?
Perhaps we are at a point when managers are no longer relevant.
Probably because I love a good heated discussion. Took me a while to realize that how I was raised gave me this gift… but there is something to having to work others up to it.
In a world that is increasingly polarised how does this not also spill into the workplace? Everything seems to be for or against. There's little middle ground or compromise happening, and very little trust.
We need to introduce mechanisms for trust building and then the disagreements can flourish, but for as long as you have a manager or colleague that will turn on you for your views or opinions most will not raise their much needed voices.
Anonymity is one solution but defeats the point of the exercise.
Good morning,
In GREENLIGHTS, Matthew McConaughey discusses how confrontation equals unity (McConaughey. 2020). Whether or not we are comfortable with this is besides the point. We all must be willing to speak the truth, and our superiors should spot us as we grow. In my experience, it is usually the team members who support us. Ironic eh?

Thank you for your time.
Not relevant by that title.
More than ever though, we need managers to be leaders.
Love the idea that conflict is the initial step into better working relationships, Joe.
Love this.
