Inspiration is always in short supply. We never have enough of it. For leaders, lighting the internal fire required for inspired performance is no easy task. Inspiration can’t be called up on demand. Leaders can create the conditions that give rise to inspiration, but they can’t guarantee the desired impact: the feelings of uplift, desire, and elevated imagination.
