It’s usually simply a list in Apple notes. Just something my mind then knows is there for when I sit down in the morning.

I wait until the morning to do this. After I've processed my inbox. I do look at my calendar at the end of each day to see what's in store for the next day.

Being consistent it key, right. I just don't pay too much attention to what tasks and project subtasks I have to do the next day. I have the type of brain that struggles to shut off at the end of the day. If I think too much about tomorrow, I miss the rest of today. Just a quick preview at the calendar allows me to: 1) know what time I have to start work (teams across multiple time zones); 2) Who I'm meeting with; 3) Am I prepared.
