Executive Functioning refers to higher-level cognitive skills that allow people to manage their thoughts, actions, and emotions to achieve goals.
Just to add that, if somebody isn’t doing great in this area, it’s worth understanding why so they can intervene effectively. With trauma for example executive functions can take a hit and getting back to peak performance may not seem intuitive.
I'm reading a book called The Body Keeps the Score and it talks about just that. Also, that trauma can be mistaken for ADHD.
