I can definitely say, I've never worked with anyone who's called out digression as a preventative measure at the top of a meeting. I've heard the odd, 'can we get back on track?', but never a pre-emptive strike. I like it!
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. We limit our digressions to a minimum, but if there is something funny we’ll share it - lightens the mood a bit. But do a good job to keep it to a minimum and not get carried away.

Sometimes digressing is a useful tool.
I think I’ve spotted the storyteller!
Yup. People relate more to stories than to fact sheets.

Sometimes people will digress on purpose to yank a conversation off topic.
