I remember when you developed interests organically by exploring the library, music store and your parents records etc. And friends were influencial, real in-person friends! We used to relish talking hours on end and having people visit! Disengage from technology as much as possible and keep kids under 18 off social media except mandatory for school communication or other necessary purposes. Curiosity reflects inquisitive minds, these minds rely on down time to be "bored" and engage imagination.
The more we know, the more we must unknow to lead wisely.
Task curiosity gets the job done.

Curiosity demands intent and effort, especially considering your point about algorithmically designed echo chambers.
Love this. Fundamental curiosity is a key to growth. "Seek first to understand".
Intellectual curiosity strikes me as a core tenet of multidisciplinary learning. Learning across disciplines instead of staying in a box.
