Good morning,

Well put. You give sound guidance to those who are aspiring to be leaders. Some of the best leaders I have worked for teach the importance of followership (if wishing to scale). You make some solid points for servant leadership. In my humble opinion and experience; in frontline work this is the only type of effective leadership. At least, in the retail industry.

Thank you for your time.

This is what teachers do to help students become leaders. I remember in my 8th grade career elective I had some boys who wanted to do a podcast for our school night. I knew nothing about this, so they led the class in production and I made sure they had everything they needed and a good spot for their presentation. I learned about podcasting, too. It was fun and really successful.

Great insight. I have learned that every leaders greatest return is empowering others to lead and watching them succeed. Failing to develop others as leaders might be a sign of insecurity. We as leaders should never be intimidated by those we serve as they display their leadership ability. In fact, we should encourage them to take on more responsibility, even to the point of our relinquishing some of our authority for periods of time. Good leaders create followers while great leaders create more leaders!

Yes definitely. Sometimes you have to lead from the front, sometimes you have to lead from the back and sometimes you have to not-lead at all!
