Good morning,

What a powerful post!

A doctor once told me that we all go through seasons. Some, I can run and lift weights. Others I'm only cleared to walk under an hour and lift no more than five pounds. Now I am faced with a dilemma. I work in an industry where I lift a minimum of twenty five pounds. I work for an organization/business unit, that has no one to fill in to manage the team. So my options are file for short term disability, and wait to recover. In doing so, I'd likely have been sentencing our forming group, to a death sentence. Or I merely work and get assistance with lifts (usually I get help a few times a week). I clearly chose the latter. That said I am looking for an out (in another industry and/or position). As unfortunate as it is, the truth is if we have injuries and/or illnesses, we certainly don't need to allow that to define us (which is a process and takes a lot of proactivity). This doesn't mean, though that we are now ideal candidates for the position and/or organization (when we take a balcony view). This confrontation of the brutal truths (Collins. 2001) is imperative to our true growth and success in life (professional and personal). The question is are we able to let go?

Thank you for your time.

Hope y'all enjoy your weekend.

Your career path is more like a painting than a ladder.

It's ok to choose to let go... sometimes more than once.
