Every so often, a team needs a jolt of energy, a lightning strike of urgency, a big priority with all hands on deck, a relentless focus that takes their breath away. This breaks them free of the same thinking, tasks, and assumptions that create complacency and undermine long-term productivity. It’s not that the team is tired or bored. It’s that they get used to the same rhythms and melodies, so the song becomes stale or old.
I just received an offer for a position as a Food Service Manager for a local grocer. While I am excited, this "Musk moments" talk hits the nail on the head. From my tour yesterday, I realize the orders are tall. Therefore the question is should I step up to the challenge?
Any books/thoughts or other ideas/tools/references are welcome and appreciated.
My take on this, Steve, is you'll know the difference when you're in a situation you understand well. Maybe the idea of a continuum: on one pole it's an ego-play (because I can), the other, for the benefit of the moment (because I should).
When we are "forced" out of our comfort zone, our brain has to forge new neuro pathways and expands our mind and experiences. With that in mind, could these moments be a tool to help us on a subconscious level how to play better with others and demonstrate we can do more than we think we can. By nature we take the path of least resistance. This process encourages us to take the path least taken.
Good morning all,
What a spectacular post, and well timed.

Thank you for your time.
You make a point, but... Just imagine all the self-proclaimed geniuses inventing their self-serving Musk Moments.
Well, this is going to take a bit of consideration to respond….. Will need to set my grey matter to work in reflecting on this!!!
Interesting take!!!

I’m not ready to name these moments after Elon yet. Do we have a better alternative out there for us?
Another great article. Here is my take away.
