Drama is emotionally draining, distracting, and annoying. Yet, some people live for it. Being in the center of drama makes them feel important and alive. It gives them an excuse to distract themselves from the reality of a life they find less exciting than it could be. They relish the theatre of any controversy.
I totally agree that the energy consumed by people who create and disseminate drama is very much a waste.
However, sometimes drama is real.
During these times of actual drama it can be the time for these people to shine. If they can channel their energies into solving the problems they can be very valuable members of the team.
Quite often you find the people who are dependable in the good times are lost when real drama hits.
I am learning this the hard way.
