I think we should be cautious with this advice. Look what happened to the quick decisions made throughout Covid that we now see caused so much harm. A measured and informed approach would be more advisable IMO.

Dale, thanks for your comment. To clarify, we aren't recommending quick decision making in the above Field Notes entry. We know there are big benefits in leader's maintaining their ability to have options for as long as they can... before a decision is absolutely necessary.

This subskill is different.

This is specifically what to do once a major decision is made.

Do you think your cautious objections would be satisfied if all of these concerns you're thinking through are actually addressed prior to a decision being made?

My apologies. I mis-took the premise of the post. Yes, I agree that leaving action too long after deciding to do something is likely to have negative repercussions. So long as the decision in the first place is the right one.
